You may wish to have a prepaid phone card to make your long distance calls.
We suggest you carefully compare prices before you make any decisions regarding your long distance service. Many prepaid cards appear to have very attractive pricing, but if you read the fine print, they're not bargains at all, because of "connection charges" that are often 59 cents to 99 cents and more, just to place the call!
Prepaid Calling Cards are available for purchase at the University Bookstore in the Alumni Hall Student Center or from local discount stores.
We do allow you to use any service that can be accessed by a toll-free number, or via “equal access”: dialing a 1010 xxx0 number.
We cannot allow you to charge calls to your room telephone.
To use your calling card, dial 9 + the 800 number listed on the card.
'900' NUMBERS: '900' calls are blocked from all SSHE University System telephones.
'976' NUMBERS: The University does not presently support 976 access. You may access '976' through use of a credit card or telephone company calling card.
Local telephone books are available for view at your Residence Hall Desk.
