Computing on Campus
First, some basics about computing on campus. Mansfield University is PC-centric, meaning the majority of our academic and public use labs have Windows-based PC's. The software that you will use for your coursework will be primarily Windows programs. That is an important consideration to make if you are deciding between purchasing a new PC or another machine, like a Mac. We strongly recommend a computer that can use Windows-based software.
The lab computers run Microsoft Office, as do faculty workstations. You will be required to use programs such as Word, Excel and Power Point as part of your coursework. Adding the latest Microsoft Office package to your system should be strongly considered. For more information about Microsoft Office, check the Office web site.
