Password Phishing Scam and Password Change Security

CT has been alerted to recent phishing scams being sent to both employees and students.

The most recent phishing attempt purports the users mailbox will be shutdown.

Those emails are phishing attempts, and you should not respond.

Please disregard any emails asking for that information.  If you have responded to one of these messages with account information, please contact the helpdesk at 570-662-4357

Password Change Security

CT will NEVER ask you to send personal information such as username, password, date of birth, via email.  When your password expires, an email does direct you to change it at our secure site. Password changes on the web are only done on our secure website at https://ssl.mansfield.edu/active-directory/

Our secure password change utility displays the following image:

Secured by thawte

When the image is clicked on you will see this pop-up window:

thawte valid certificate

This verifies that the site you are changing your password on is authenticated and registered to Mansfield University, and is secure.
